Taking into consideration the obsolescence of the plant, it can easily be concluded that it needs to be modernized and improved. Panonske TE-TO currently implements several projects: construction of a facility for conduit and treatment of oiled and muddy water, construction of the HCL and NaOH warehouse, and construction of a facility for processing waste water from Chemical Water Preparation (HPV).

  • Energy from Biomass

Serbia, as a country with rather scant fossil fuel resources, should as soon as possible and as much as possible turn to locally available fuel such as biomass, especially if we take into account that biomass is a resource that makes 80% of the current renewable fuel potential in the country.

Analyzing the prospects of TPP-HP development while considering the biomass potential in the Sremska Mitrovica region, construction of a plant for producing electric and thermal energy using biomass as fuel emerges as one of the serious possibilities. Currently, preliminary possibility analysis is being carried out.

If project proves to be feasible, TPP-HP would join a group of those who produce so-called green energy.
